How to fix the “failed to import” error

Have you made an attempt to import one of your demos by using our Import Customizer tool, but the import has been never completed and you received the “failed to import” error message? There could be several reasons for this error to appear, please check the possible causes below.

Possible Causes

  • Make sure you have installed and activated all required plugins. Please navigate to > Appearance > Install Plugins to install and activate them.
  • It can be that your web hosting service doesn’t meet the requirements for the import. Please make sure that your server memory limit is set to 256M and the max execution time (php time limit) to 600 seconds. If you don’t know how to do that or don’t have access for it, then you can simply contact your hosting hosting company and ask them to change it for you.
